Care and Feeding of your Leather holster…
Care and cleaning your holster is essential to the continued serviceability of your holster…It isn’t NEARLY as difficult as some would think..There are some simple DO’S and DO NOT’s that you can follow and prolong the life and beauty of your holster.
DO’S
Clean your leather holster periodically with hard bar glycerin soap and water…Use a small amount of water and soap and work it into a lather..Apply it to the leather until it rubs in good and then wipe off with a soft cloth…Reapply some Neutral Kiwi polish and buff with a soft cloth or brush..Let it dry from the polish and then you are ready to go again…Cleaning schedules vary depending on the climate…I clean mine every 1-3 months..yours may differ…but more than once a month isn’t recommended.
DO NOT’S
Do not submerge or
saturate your leather product in water or any other liquid.
Do not dry your leather product with heat from a hair dryer, oven, radiator,
direct sunlight, etc.
Do not use oils such as Neats Foot oil as they will saturate and soften the
leather too much.
Do not leave your leather product on the dashboard of your car in summer, etc.
Do not use holster if tension unit(s) are missing. The above care and
maintenance instructions cannot substitute for your good common sense.
NEVER LEAVE YOUR WEAPON IN A HOLSTER THAT IS DAMP OR WET!!!! TAKE IT OUT AND LET IT DRY FOR 24 HOURS!!!
